A Thousand And One Tongues was a duet in painting with Maria Victoria Beltran at the now defunct gallery Gallery Q. The theme was to be on tongues and all its connotations. Both being poets, the artists decided to produce individual poemS as statements for the show. [VIEW PAINTINGS]
excepte la langue du papillon
"je suis un papillon,
oui", it said
with a lightness
of foot
the hoot,
pink tongued
like the rest of its soul
rolled out
and about
the closet hole
flicking, licking
the toilet bowl
for shit,
vomit,
anything it
could salvage
from its bowels,
bile-sponging towel
shit-digging trowel
queen of want
it wants
and wants
and wants some more
history
some more
memory
some more
poetry
from before
lathers with tongues,
a thousand and one
excepte la langue du papillon

dila ra'y walay labud
Ang dila nagdula
sa imong baba
sa akong baba
sa mga baba-
sa kalibutan
sa atong dunggan
sa atong dughan
sa mga dughan
sa kalibutan
kon ugaling
ako imong
among-amongan
pagbantay kanahan
kay kada yatak
ning bitiis nga inahak
palayo
dagan
kamang
kapyot
na lang
sa nagdahunog
nga balod
nga niduyog
sa bagyo
kay dila ra nimo
unya-
ang walay labud
