ABOUT

Russ Ligtas is a Cebuano artist living in Manila. He creates art in various media mostly in the cross-dimensional, intermedia collective form of performance. He uses movement, sound, video, text, and objects to express and discuss themes of the true self across diverse personalities, issues, and basic human emotions and behavior. From dancing for dolphins on Japanese shores, embodying memory on a ship cruising the western rim of the Pacific, to narrating Philippine history through his body in Scandinavian soil, he has performed joyfully with little to no acclaim in Europe and Asia. In his homeland, he applies his creative process to other side projects like film, advertising, fortune-telling, dolphin research, fellowship rituals, meals, laundry, and bicycling helmet-less in old Manila.
