Then I decided to go midtown instead and take pictures of the city and by a dvd, my first from that place my ex buys them from
Second post for the day. I'm turning into an internet geek. The enrollment of students didn't push through, had a little trouble with the organization's depository of funds. I headed for Ayala to buy these overdue batteries I've been planning to buy for so long for my camera. I bought an 8-pack. Only four of them worked. Anyway, I'd still pay more for four from a decent brand. I got hungry and texted friends. Chai replied and told me I could watch the play they've been teaching in. I figured I should, I had nothing else to do. So I walked around the mall to kill some time, then I saw a copy of "Everything is Illuminated" in the record bar. I read the synopsis and found out the movie has the same idea as my work in the "Intersecting Here" exhibit concerning mementos. Elijah Wood's character keeps them in individual plastic bags. Now everyone will think I stole that idea from that movie. I guess collective memory is true...in a global sense. We are all telepathically connected. I then deciced to buy myself a dvd copy of the movie, and I decided to buy it from the sole place my ex gets them. I have to admit I felt weirdly good doing so, like being involved in a beautiful secret. The place was a room in a small building opposite National Bookstore. After that, I took pictures of midtown Cebu(see my phlog). I went inside Fuente Osmena Circle and took pictures of the benches, the fountain, etc. Then a bum and his wife started fighting with the guard. The bum man was so furious and threatening that the guard nervously pulled and held his gun to threaten them back. I didn't want to be accidentally shot so I headed straight to one of the gates and out. Hew. As I was passing by Rosita's, I found these old naked mannequins from the mart's windows and took pictures of them. They looked so sad, like they knew they were obsolete and that the store was gonna close down soon, like they were useless old models stripped of their glory. I continued my photoshoot with midtown Cebu until I got to the trikes for a ride home. I caught ma watching Ang Lee's "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon". I started cooking dinner, pasta and gluten, supposedly I should be at SM watching Chai and Liyo's students' play. Whoa.
